Magic Johnson Claims He Is The Best Point Guard of all time

In an interview with the Zach Gelb Show, Magic Johnson claims he is the best point guard of all time, not Stephen Curry.

When Gilbert asked Stephen Curry about who the greatest point guard of all time is, and Steph mentioned himself, it was quite a respectful response.

But how does Magic Johnson process that statement? Well, Magic doesn’t quite agree. In his eyes, the numbers have the final say.

“If he got more than five championships, if he got more than three Finals MVPs and three league MVPS, then he’s the greatest,” Magic said.

Recently, the point guard for the Golden State Warriors, declared himself the greatest point guard in NBA history, surpassing even the legendary Magic Johnson.

Curry’s impressive career includes four NBA championships, two regular season and finals MVPs, and two scoring titles.

However, this assertion sparked debate, as many still argue that Magic Johnson had a more illustrious career.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, a teammate of Johnson’s on the iconic Los Angeles Lakers teams of the 1980s, added an interesting twist to the conversation.

He suggested that neither Curry nor Johnson should hold the title of greatest point guard. Instead, he pointed to Oscar Robertson as the ultimate point guard in NBA history.

Magic Johnson responded respectfully and diplomatically when asked about Curry’s viewpoint on this ongoing discussion.

He politely objected to Curry’s assertion and said that, in his opinion, Curry was not the best point guard to ever play the game.

Fans are not happy when Magic Johnson claims he is the best point guard of all time

After Bleacher Report posted about Magic Johnson’s statement, fans were not happy.

An X user said, “Steph didn’t have the luxury of playing on a superteam in his rookie year like Magic did. Bro played with Kareem right away.”

Another X user said, “ Steph would win MVP every season and 10 chips if he played in Magic’s era.”

It seems like Magic Johnson’s self-proclamation wasn’t a good idea. What do you think?
