Another critical piece of evidence emerged when security cameras captured the perpetrator burning items in a fire pit on the evening of September 14th. Later, police discovered burned fabric in the same fire pit.

Sergio Brown’s actions seemed to imply an attempt to flee the country. He called an Uber to the airport and flew to Mexico on the morning of September 15.

All while booking Airbnb rentals with his mother’s credit card. Mexican authorities later located him on October 7 and deported him back to the United States. Where they saw him carrying a bag containing his mother’s belongings.
